約翰福音3:21-36

21但行真理的必来就光，要显明他所行的是靠神而行。」
22这事以後，耶稣和门徒到了犹太地，在那里居住，施洗。
23约翰在靠近撒冷的哀嫩也施洗；因为那里水多，众人都去受洗。
24（那时约翰还没有下在监计。）
25约翰的门徒和一个犹太人辩论洁净的礼，
26就来见约翰，说：「拉比，从前同你在约旦河外、你所见证的那位，现在施洗，众人都往他那里去了。」
27约翰说：「若不是从天上赐的，人就不能得甚麽。
28我曾说：『我不是基督，是奉差遣在他前面的』，你们自己可以给我作见证。
29娶新妇的就是新郎；新郎的朋友站着，听见新郎的声音就甚喜乐。故此，我这喜乐满足了。
30他必兴旺，我必衰微。」
31「从天上来的是在万有之上；从地上来的是属乎地，他所说的也是属乎地。从天上来的是在万有之上。
32他将所见所闻的见证出来，只是没有人领受他的见证。
33那领受他见证的，就印上印，证明神是真的。
34神所差来的就说神的话，因为神赐圣灵给他是没有限量的。
35父爱子，已将万有交在他手里。
36信子的人有永生；不信子的人得不着永生（原文作不得见永生），神的震怒常在他身上。」

John 3:21-36

21 But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.[a]”

John the Baptist Exalts Jesus

22 Then Jesus and his disciples left Jerusalem and went into the Judean countryside. Jesus spent some time with them there, baptizing people.

23 At this time John the Baptist was baptizing at Aenon, near Salim, because there was plenty of water there; and people kept coming to him for baptism. 24 (This was before John was thrown into prison.) 25 A debate broke out between John’s disciples and a certain Jew[b] over ceremonial cleansing. 26 So John’s disciples came to him and said, “Rabbi, the man you met on the other side of the Jordan River, the one you identified as the Messiah, is also baptizing people. And everybody is going to him instead of coming to us.”

27 John replied, “No one can receive anything unless God gives it from heaven. 28 You yourselves know how plainly I told you, ‘I am not the Messiah. I am only here to prepare the way for him.’ 29 It is the bridegroom who marries the bride, and the bridegroom’s friend is simply glad to stand with him and hear his vows. Therefore, I am filled with joy at his success. 30 He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.

31 “He has come from above and is greater than anyone else. We are of the earth, and we speak of earthly things, but he has come from heaven and is greater than anyone else.[c] 32 He testifies about what he has seen and heard, but how few believe what he tells them! 33 Anyone who accepts his testimony can affirm that God is true. 34 For he is sent by God. He speaks God’s words, for God gives him the Spirit without limit. 35 The Father loves his Son and has put everything into his hands. 36 And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”
